Smyto Creative

Hello! I’m Tom, the face behind Smyto Creative – a digital marketing freelancer and content writer. I’ve been working with Lucy at Love Travel Planning since 2023, helping to build the website and shape it into what it is today.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve lived with a severe peanut allergy, and while I was at university I also became allergic to all other nuts. Travelling with a serious allergy comes with its own challenges, but it has never stopped me wanting to see the world. Through Love Travel Planning, I share my experiences, lessons, and practical tips to help others travel more confidently with allergies.

When I’m back in England, you’ll usually find me out walking or hiking somewhere in the countryside. I’m a keen photographer as well, so alongside travel guides you’ll often find a few countryside photos from my latest wander.

Flying With Nut Allergy On Ryanair: 8.8/10 Allergy Audit

Ryanair is one of the more unexpectedly allergy-friendly airlines operating across Europe, and for travellers with severe nut allergies, it is one of the safest options. Admittedly — Ryanair isn’t an airline you choose for luxury. It’s built around low cost, no frills travel, where the focus is simply getting from A to B. You board, you sit down, and you might grab...

Flying With Nut Allergy On British Airways: 8/10 Allergy Audit

British Airways is usually my go-to airline when flying from the UK. There are several reasons for this; I am part of the British Airways Executive Club, I collect Avios, and as the UK’s flag carrier they simply have the largest network of long haul routes from the UK.For travellers based in Britain, that often makes British Airways the most convenient option...

Flying With Nut Allergy On JetStar Airways: 4/10 Allergy Audit

During my recent trip across Australia, I flew four separate flights with Jetstar Airways, travelling between Perth, Adelaide, Hobart and Melbourne. The experiences ranged from excellent allergy awareness to worrying safety issues, making Jetstar one of the most inconsistent airlines I have flown with as someone who carries EpiPens for a nut allergy.Understanding the...

Flying With Nut Allergy On Qatar Airways: 6.8/10 Allergy Policy Audit

Flying long haul with a severe nut allergy adds another layer of complexity to travel planning. The aircraft environment is enclosed, food is served throughout the cabin and medical help is limited at 35,000 feet.Qatar Airways is one of the most popular airlines for travelling from the UK to Australia, but how well does it handle passengers with severe allergies?In...

Where To Stay While Travelling With A Nut Allergy

When you travel with a nut allergy, the first thing you usually think about is where you’re going to eat when you’re out and about, and that’s only natural. Then the second question quickly follows behind; where will I eat breakfast? Then the third; What about dinner after a long day exploring? If you’re travelling for more than a few days, eating out three times a...
