Australia comprises the 6 mainland territories of New South Wales, Queensland, the Northern Territory, Western Australia, South Australia, Victoria, plus the island of Tasmania, and over 8,000 islands without its maritime boundaries.
As a result, Australia is huge, in fact it’s the 6th largest country in the world, but it’s not until you visit and experience the long distances between locations that you can get the true sense of its vastness. That said, the treats waiting for you at each stop more than makeup for any effort in reaching them whether its vineyards, surfing beaches, bushland, indigenous experiences, or cities.
WA – Perth, Pinnacles & Esperance
Visiting the huge state of Western Australia offers the opportunity for several holidays in one trip as the landscape at the top of the State is very different to that at the bottom, as is the climate.
The state capital of Perth is likely to be your entry point, from which you can travel Southwest to the vineyards at Margaret River, before continuing to the remote but stunning town of Esperance to the east.
Alternatively head north from Perth up to the Ningaloo Coastline to swim with whale sharks before continuing to the old pearling town of Broome, and then the remote north of the Kimberley National Park.
