Exploring Europe

The European continent lies in the Northern Hemisphere and covers a wide range of countries and cultures.  It is bordered by the chilly Arctic Ocean to the north, the wild Atlantic Ocean to the West and the warmth of the Mediterranean Sea to the south, then being joined with Asia to its east.

Home to the world’s smallest country, Vatican City, and the world’s most visited tourist attraction, the Louvre art museum in Paris, there is plenty to discover in the nearly 50 countries which make up Europe – castles in Germany, mountains in Switzerland, vineyards in France, windmills in the Netherlands, Roman artefacts in Italy, and the stunning island of Greece.  Europe is perfect to explore by train, with small distances and efficient train networks, you can easily zip between several countries within one trip.
