Exploring West Asia

Shot of numerous circular unpainted clay pots for water lined up outside a wall. Wide bodies and narrow necks

West Asia, or the Middle East, is a geopolitical region comprising the countries on the Arabian Peninsula, plus the Levant, Iraq and Iran, Turkey and the Caucasus region.  Much, but not all, of the region has a dry, arid terrain and climate.  There are mountainous regions as well as vast areas of desert.

The Middle East is an area rich in history and once considered the ‘cradle of civilisation’ which makes it a fascinating part of the world to visit.  Whilst it can offer a desert experience for those seeking one, there are also some uber modern cities to explore, making it a region of contrasts.
