Many people like to take trips which offer specific elements, such as, wildlife spotting, outdoor activities or historical tours. Perhaps they will be travelling with friends, travelling with family, travelling by car on a road trip or taking trains on the rail network – each type of trip requiring different considerations as part of the travel planning process.
When you start the planning for your trip, it’s a good idea to give some thought to whether your chosen type of holiday requires any specific considerations – if you’re going to the Antarctic then what sort of special clothing do you need, if you going on a camping holiday then what equipment should you take, or if you’re travelling with young children then what do you pack to keep them entertained and well fed?
The following blogs offer advice for planning specific types of trips.
Road trips
Road trips are a fantastic travel experience, but they do require a lot of planning as there are a lot of moving parts to organise – car hire, routes, multiple overnight stays and accommodation, activities and pitstops to schedule. But if you do the planning work upfront, you will be able to enjoy an incredible trip on the road.
