The Middle East, or West Asia, is a geopolitical region comprising the countries on the Arabian Peninsula, plus Egypt, Iran, Iraq, the Levant and Turkey. Much, but not all, of the region has a dry, arid terrain and climate.
The Middle East is an area rich in history and once considered the ‘cradle of civilisation’ which makes it a fascinating part of the world to visit. Whilst it can offer a desert experience for those seeking one, there are also some uber modern cities to explore, making it a region of contrasts.
Oman, or the Sultanate of Oman to give it its formal title, is a wonderful country located on the Southeast coast of the Arabian Peninsula.
A holiday to Oman can offer a cultural experience in the city of Muscat, a chance to relax and recuperate in a resort by the sea, or the opportunity to sleep under the starts in the desert at Wahiba Sands. Oman will cast its magic on you, and you will fall for its charms.
The United Arab Emirates (UAE), or Emirates as it is known, comprises 7 Emirates, including Abu Dhabi and neighbouring Dubai.
For those on a first time visit to Dubai or Abu Dhabi, you will be amazed by the scale and glitz of the buildings, the blend of old and new architectures, and the proximity to the desert from which the cities rise. The cities will surprise you and enchant you in equal measure.
